Catalogue SEO Services / method

Prove the category decision before scaling it.

A representative product family is a better starting point than a sweeping instruction to change thousands of URLs.

  1. 01 / Find the leakage

Examine Search Console query-to-page evidence, category inventories and the rendered templates. Flag wasted index coverage and categories attracting impressions without valuable visits.

  2. 02 / Set ownership

Create one clear target intent for each significant category or guide. Record canonical decisions and internal-link rules so developers can implement them consistently.

  3. 03 / Test before rollout

Validate representative product, category and filtered URLs in staging. Review generated HTML, mobile behaviour, redirects and structured data against the actual rendered page.

  4. 04 / Measure the trade-offs

Compare non-brand category landing pages, qualified organic visits and completed commercial actions. Avoid treating total indexed URLs as the success measure.

Test the decision on one category before applying it everywhere

Take a collection, a colour-filtered view, a sort order and a product page. Save their current HTTP responses, canonicals, internal links and visible merchandise. Define what each address is intended to do. After a proposed change in a safe environment, verify that the right category remains reachable, important products can still be discovered and shoppers can still use the filter.

If those checks fail, a lower 'duplicate URLs' count is not a successful rollout. The handover should include representative before-and-after URLs, an exception list, the person who can reverse the change and the business metric to review after release. We would not claim that an index coverage chart proves additional sales.

What success can and cannot mean

A prioritised plan for improving qualified catalogue search traffic and tracking enquiries or sales rather than just keyword counts.

Search rankings can change for reasons outside an individual implementation. We agree commercial outcomes and evidence quality in advance rather than promising a fixed ranking or timetable.
